Welcome to Our Cats' Home & Wine House
At Istanbull Katz, we believe good wine, delicious food and the company of cats make a wonderful combination.
But there's one thing that always comes first: the comfort, safety and wellbeing of our resident rescue cats.
This is their home, and we're lucky enough to share it with them.
To keep our wine house safe, relaxed and enjoyable for everyone, we kindly ask all guests to follow a few simple rules.
1. How Visits Work
No entrance fee, just a £25 minimum spend per person.
Your minimum spend can be used across our food and drinks menu.
As our wine house is also home to rescue cats, guests enjoying alcoholic drinks are required to order food alongside them.
All reservations are for 2 hours.
Loving your time with us? If there's availability after your booking, we may be able to extend your visit with an additional £25 minimum spend per person.
Extensions are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
2. Responsible Drinking
At Istanbull Katz, we believe good wine should be enjoyed responsibly, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
As our wine house is also home to our resident rescue cats, maintaining a calm, safe and respectful environment is especially important to us.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who appears intoxicated or whose behaviour may compromise the comfort and safety of our cats, guests or team.
During your visit, our team will monitor alcohol service responsibly. We reserve the right to refuse or stop serving alcohol at any time if we believe a guest has consumed too much or their behaviour is becoming inappropriate for our environment.
If a guest's behaviour compromises the safety or wellbeing of others, or if they fail to respect our team's decisions, they may be asked to leave the premises immediately.
We kindly ask all guests to respect these decisions and cooperate with our team.
3. Respect Our Resident Cats
Let the cats choose the interaction.
You're welcome to call them over, gently stroke them when they're comfortable and enjoy their company. Please never chase, grab, pull or force an interaction.
Never wake a sleeping cat.
Our residents need plenty of rest throughout the day. If they're sleeping, please let them enjoy their peaceful time.
Do not pick up a cat.
Some of our cats have individual health conditions, mobility needs or simply prefer not to be held.
Never feed the cats.
Our residents follow carefully managed diets. Human food and drinks, especially alcohol, must never be shared with them.
Remember, our cats are not here to entertain us. They're simply living their lives, and we are their guests.
4. Keep the House Calm
Istanbull Katz is designed to be an intimate, relaxed wine house, not a playground or petting experience.
You're welcome to have a little wander to say hello to our residents, but we kindly ask you to remain seated as much as possible during your visit.
Constant walking around can disturb the cats and create safety risks while our team serves food and drinks.
Please keep conversations at a comfortable volume and avoid shouting, running or sudden movements around the cats.
Let them come to you. Sometimes the best feline company arrives when you least expect it.
5. Food, Drinks & Hygiene
Please wash or sanitise your hands when entering the cat area.
Food and drinks must remain at your table and should never be left unattended.
Please don't walk around carrying glasses, bottles, plates or food.
Keep all alcoholic drinks away from our cats at all times.
When entering or leaving the cat area, please follow staff instructions and ensure doors are properly closed. Our cats must remain safely inside their home.
Smoking, vaping and e-cigarettes are not permitted indoors.
6. Photos & Cat Furniture
We love seeing our guests capture special moments with our residents.
You're welcome to take photographs, but please never use flash, as it can frighten or disturb the cats.
Please don't move cats into position for photographs or interrupt their rest.
Cat furniture, beds, shelves and climbing equipment belong to our residents. Please don't sit, stand, climb or place belongings on them.
If a cat decides they've had enough attention, please respect their choice.
7. Adults Only
Istanbull Katz is an 21+ wine house.
To maintain our adults-only atmosphere and support responsible alcohol service, we cannot accommodate children or anyone under 18, including babies.
All guests may be asked to provide valid photographic identification.
8. Accessibility & Individual Needs
If you have mobility requirements, sensory sensitivities or any other accessibility needs that may affect your visit, please contact us before booking.
We'll do our best to provide clear information about our space and help you decide whether your visit will be comfortable and suitable.
Please be aware that our cats move freely within their designated areas.
9. Respect Our Team & House Rules
Our team is responsible for protecting our cats, maintaining a safe environment and ensuring that everyone enjoys their visit.
If a guest repeatedly ignores our House Rules, mistreats a cat, becomes intoxicated or behaves in a way that puts anyone at risk, we reserve the right to refuse further service or ask them to leave.
Where a visit is ended due to a serious breach of our House Rules, refunds will not normally be offered, subject to applicable consumer rights.
We kindly ask all guests to respect staff instructions and decisions.

Our rules aren't here to take away from your experience. They're here to make sure our rescue cats can enjoy a safe, peaceful and loving home while sharing their space with us.
Some days they'll be playful and curious. Other days they'll prefer a quiet nap. Both are perfectly fine.
